Cookies and localStorage are different
A cookie is browser-held data that can be sent with requests to a matching server. localStorage is a browser storage mechanism available to scripts on the same origin; it is not automatically attached to page requests. Both can retain information, so both should be described clearly.
The JavaScript provided with this website uses localStorage only when you choose a preference on this page. It does not store contact drafts, identifiers for advertising, browsing histories or analytics events.
| Item | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| polar-storage-preference | Remember “accepted” or “essential” on this browser | Until cleared or removed by the browser |
| Contact draft | Temporary page memory only | Not saved by site code |
Your local preference
“Accept” records that choice only. No optional tracking is currently available, and accepting does not enable any. “Essential Only” records a restricted preference. Both choices leave all informational pages and tools available.
Changing your choice
Return to this page at any time to replace or clear the stored preference. Clearing it does not delete downloaded text files or clipboard contents. Preferences are specific to the browser and origin where they were saved; another device or browser may have a different choice.
Browser and infrastructure settings
You may block storage or delete site data through your browser controls. If storage is unavailable, the pages remain readable and the tool can still operate where supported. Private browsing may remove preferences when the session ends.
Hosting, security infrastructure or features added separately to the deployed site may have their own storage behaviour. This page describes the supplied static code and should be updated if additional services are introduced. External websites linked from reference pages operate under their own policies.
